Clothing and Equipment Check list
All equipment, food and your own personal backpacks are carried by the porters or pack animals. During the day you will only need to carry your camera and small daypack containing personal equipment and clothing.

Sleeping Bag

Footwear
- Walking boots, waterproof with suitable ankle support and a good sole - please ensure they are properly broken in
- Trainers or casual shoes, for wearing round the camp and travelling
- Several pairs of warm walking socks for colder areas **
- Several pairs of thin thermal socks
Legwear
- Loose, casual trousers for trekking good to have zips
- Thermal leggings
- Windproof and Waterproof over-trousers **
Bodywear
- Selection of T-shirts and long sleeved shirts
- Thermal vest **
- Several sets of underwear light and loose
- Fleece jacket **
- Windproof and waterproof jacket with integral hood **
- Down jacket **
Head/Hands
- Wool or fleece hat to wear in camp and tent **
- Wide brimmed hat for sun protection while trekking
- Sunglasses 100% UV protection
- Sunscreen lotion and lip balm
- Warm gloves
Other Items
- Rucksack 30-35 litres **
- Large holdall to be carried in hold of plane and by porters (max 20 kg) **
- 2 Bin bags and plastic bags or stuff sacks to store/separate trekking gear inside your main bag
- Half litre stainless steel flask
- Personal first aid kit to include essential items (see below)
- Torch, ideally LED head torch plus spare batteries
- Camera and film or spare batteries and memory cards
- Toilet items and travel towel
- Wet-wipes for washing
- Pee Bottle (for ladies a Sheewee) for night time use in tent
- High energy snacks such as chocolate bars, flapjacks, raisins, nuts, etc.
- Anti-bacterial hand wash lots
- Contact lens wearers bring spare lenses and glasses in case of dust
- Sewing kit
- Toilet paper/matches
Optional items
- Adjustable walking poles x 2 (try to fit into main hold luggage)
- Notebooks and pens/pencils
- Binoculars, Books, Altimeter, Compass
- Playing cards / backgammon / chess set
- Penknife (note: make sure this is in hold luggage on plane)
First aid Kit suggestions
- Painkillers/Paracetamol
- Ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatory
- Adhesive dressings and Compeed blister pads
- Antiseptic spray
- Zinc oxide tape
- Diahorrea tablets (imodium) and rehydration sachets
- Tweezers, scissors, safety pins (note not in hand luggage on flight)
- Small tub vaseline
- Any medication you normally use
